This is fucking sad....In a time of a war on terror, poverty, recession, government intrusion on our civil liberties, a failed 'war on drugs' that targets a product safer than alcohol, an out of touch old man like Harry Reid wants to waste Congressional time and money on attacking the oldest profession in the world, and one that has done nothing but benefit the state of Nevada. Fuck you, Mr. Reid. I am ashamed that I ever shook your hand all those years ago

We have an amazing essay from Ian Shearer, and some fucking kick-in-your-teeth poems from John Dervishian, and Anton Gourman. As these words are typed, drunkenabsurdity stickers are being mailed across the globe, to bring more and more underground artists and poets to our revolution....
I am scouring the back alleys and streets of New England for our new Voice from the Underground, and have found some great potentials..
If you want to join us as an honorary revolutionary, send us your address and we will send off a stack of stickers, for you to take to the dim streets at night and post signs of our rebellion on bus benches, stop signs, and sleeping bums.

My stomach grows sick
of all these poets and artists
self procclaimed geniuses and
masters of the world
wallowing in their bohemian
misery and contempt
while pious in their fucking
snobby airs of those
who don't wear skinny jeans and
listen to their horrible music
songs they stole from us
and made their own
those pretentious fucks
These posers have nothing to
offer the world except
teenage suicide and love-sick
dribble that makes me vomit
in disgust
they know not of pain
or suffering
or lost dreams
except what they read in terrible novels
fuck them
night on the town...

On 23 August 1779, the USS Constitution set sail from Boston, loaded with 475 officers and men, 48,600 gallons of water, 74,000 cannon shot, 11,500 pounds of black powder and 79,400 gallons of rum. Her mission: to destroy and harass English shipping. On 6 October, she made Jamaica, took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum. Three weeks later, Constitution reached the Azores, where she provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 2,300 gallons of Portuguese wine. On 18 November, she set sail for England where her crew captured and scuttled 12 English merchant vessels and took aboard their rum. By this time, Constitution had run out of shot. Nevertheless, she made her way unarmed up the Firth of Clyde for a night raid. Here, her landing party captured a whiskey distillery, transferred 13,000 gallons aboard and headed for home. On 20 February 1780, the Constitution arrived in Boston with no cannon shot, no food, no powder, no rum and no whiskey. She did, however, still carry her crew of 475 officers and men and 18,600 gallons of water.
The math is quite enlightening.
Length of cruise: 181 days
Booze consumption: 1.26 gallons per man per day (this does NOT include the unknown quantify of rum captured from the 12 English merchant vessels in November) Read more...
